This Avocado Berry Acai Smoothie Bowl is made with only 5 ingredients and a perfect healthy summer treat!
It’s been HOT HOT HOT here these past few days in SoCal and that’s why I’ve been making summer treats like this Avocado Berry Acai Smoothie Bowl like CRAzzzzZy town since I’ve been back from vacation! I have no idea what’s up with the weather lately, but MAN I am not used to this! I did live through 20 long HOT summers in Arizona, and I almost feel like these past few days have been right up there. Now, before you give me a hard time, you’ve got to realize that we don’t have A/C in these SoCal homes (or at least most of us) because it just usually doesn’t reach hot enough temps to warrant that. WELL this warrants that!
Last summer was pretty darn hot there for a while too, so my husband went out and bought a window unit for our bedroom. LIFE SAVER. So, needless to say I’m writing this blog post from the arctic tundra that is my bedroom 🙂
Well, when it gets HOT like this, the last thing I want is hot food, so I usually go for FREEZING cold stuff like this Not-So-Chunky Monkey Protein Shake or this Coffee Protein Shake. BUT sometimes I like to eat my food, not drink it, hence the “bowl”.
I also want something that’s SUPER easy to make, because seriously, who wants to get more hot making their food? Not me! Anytime I make single serving smoothies or batters, I use the Magic Bullet because it’s SO EASY! This recipe also only has 5 ingredients:
Mixed Frozen Berries
Unsweetened Almond Milk
This particular Avocado Berry Acai Smoothie Bowl is more like a treat or snack, mainly because it consists of carbohydrates and healthy fats. You could always add in a scoop of protein powder if you wanted to have this as an actual meal replacement as well! And what a mighty yummy meal replacement that would be, I might add!
- ½ cup mixed frozen berries
- 2 Sambazon frozen packs
- ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
- ½ cup water
- ½ avocado
- Blend in blender (I use the Magic Bullet) & top with anything! sliced avocado, berries, chia seeds, etc
So while I freeze out my bedroom, typing this blog post, daydreaming about still being on our South African safari vacation, at least I’ll have this delicious and healthy Avocado Berry Acai Smoothie Bowl to look forward to!
